JURA C9 — super-automatic espresso machine with milk drinks

The milk drink, start to finish, on one press

The C3 makes coffee. The C9 makes the milk drinks too, which is the difference between a machine that serves you and a machine that serves a household with different orders in it.

How it works

Pulse extraction pushes water through the puck in intervals rather than one continuous stream, which is what gets flavour out of a short drink dispensed quickly. The thermoblock flushes before each cycle so the water is freshly heated every time. Milk handling and drink selection run from the machine, with app connection available if you want it and ignorable if you do not. Plastic housing keeps the weight down to around 23 lb.

Who it suits

A good fit if your household drinks cappuccinos and lattes as much as espresso, nobody wants to learn milk texturing, and you want it done without supervision.

Consider another machine if you want to steam milk yourself, or you only drink espresso straight — the C3 does that for three hundred dollars less.
